| The interconnector structure of solid oxide fuel cell (SOFC) plays a decisive role in the performance of fuel cells. In this paper, a three-dimensional numerical model of SOFC with four different types of interconnectors such as straight, cylindrical, rectangular, and concave was established to explore the effect of interconnector structure on the SOFC performance. Numerical analysis on the multi-physical field coupling process of fluid flow, species transfer, electrochemical reaction and solid-fluid heat transfer was performed. The results indicate that the cylindrical, rectangular, and concave interconnector can enhance the gas transport and increase the current density and power density in SOFC under certain conditions. Among these structures, the largest improvement is observed for the concave interconnector, following by the cylindrical and rectangular interconnectors. Within the whole investigated range of porosity, the cylindrical, rectangular, and concave interconnectors are superior to the straight interconnector, especially at smaller cathode porosity. |
