Energy and environment are the two major issues facing the world in this century. Searching for new "clean alternative fuels" is an inevitable choice for human beings. Biomass energy is a new type of clean, low-cost renewable energy that can be used as automobile engine fuel. The research and development of biomass-energy power system technologies for automobiles are therefore beneficial to improving the national energy consumption structure, safeguarding national energy security, and protecting the environment. This paper introduced the power system technologies for biomass-fuel automobiles, including the cracking gasification technology of solid fuels, the purification technology of gas fuel, and the gas engine technology. Guidance and suggestions were offered for research and development of biomass fuel automobiles. |
