| Natural gas-fired fire-tube boilers are simple in construction, require only a small floor area, and are beneficial to reduce environmental pollution. Nevertheless, the exhaust flue gas temperature of them is generally high, which will increase energy consumption. How to reduce the fire-tube boiler energy consumption has therefore become a public concern. With a boiler improvement case, the idea and methods for installing energy-saving devices were introduced in this paper. As the boiler user had set the boundary conditions for installing energy saving devices, the energy-saving effect of them was subject to certain restrictions and the energy-saving rate was only 3%. According to calculations, the boiler exhaust gas temperature can be controlled at around 120℃ and the energy-saving rate can reach 5% to 10%, if the height of the energy-saving device increases by 1 m and fin type extended heating surfaces are used. |
