| Energy efficiency standards and labels are the most effective policy tools for reducing energy consumption and protecting the environment, which have received broad attention worldwide. This paper presents the concepts, basic principles and functions, and establishment of energy efficiency standards and labels. In addition, the implementation of energy efficiency standards and labels in some major countries/regions of the world is discussed, which shows that the energy efficiency programs in the US, EU and Japan gain the lead in the world, while China is among the developing countries with the most comprehensive standards and labels programs. With the increase of energy efficiency programs, international cooperation is paid more and more attention to, of which the harmonization of standards and labels is an important aspect. It is especially significant for China to implement energy efficiency standards and labels according to the analysis of the paper. |
