| The reliability in operation and efficient performance of industrial and power boilers may be greatly influenced by low temperature corrosion and clogging on the air-preheater, especially when firing sulfur coal or oil. Based on a comparison of the material properties of various air-preheater tubes, it was concluded that the enamel tube has high corrosion resistance and can be used on the air-preheater although its initial cost will be much higher than the steel tube. Field tests showed that the low temperature corrosion can be eliminated in the main using enamel tubes on the air-preheater. The reliability in operation and efficient performance of oil-fired boilers can thus be increased significantly. |
